The Donovan Song
by Tom Miller

I was walking on a sea of glass
Thinking of all the people I passed
It was a walk in the rain
Letting go of some pain
Hoping it would be my last

Donovan taught me to write this song
Hey sing along
Donovan taught me to write this song
Hey hey sing along

I came to the shore and walked on the land
My feet were clean but I dirtied my hands
By living a life like any other man
And thinking I’m special for that

And then there came a little red home
The door was open and the fire was warm
I went inside and closed the door
And I had some wine and sat on the floor
And thought about things that came before

I became the land
I became the sea
I became the rain
That was the end of me
